Regional Housing Advisory Committee Meetings; 2019—2023 Consolidated Plan and 2019 Annual Action Plan

[48 Pa.B. 5034]
[Saturday, August 18, 2018]

The Department of Community and Economic Development (Department) is preparing the Commonwealth's 2019—2023 Consolidated Plan and 2019 Annual Action Plan. Both documents must be submitted to, and approved by, the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for the Commonwealth to receive funding under HUD's housing and community development programs of Community Development Block Grant, HOME Investment Partnership Program, Emergency Solutions Grant Program, Housing Opportunities for People with AIDS and National Housing Trust Fund. The Consolidated Plan creates a unified strategy for these programs to address identified needs, as well as the necessary linkages for building successful neighborhoods and communities.

As part of the planning process, the Department conducts meetings across this Commonwealth to discuss regional needs for housing, homelessness, economic and community development issues, and develops goals for the programs that may affect the method of distribution of Fiscal Years 2019—2023 funding. The first of these meetings are the Regional Housing Advisory Committee (RHAC) meetings.

RHAC Meetings

There are six RHACs across this Commonwealth comprised of appointed members. Meetings of these RHACs are open to the public under 65 Pa.C.S. §§ 701—716 (relating to Sunshine Act). These RHACs advise the Department regarding housing, homelessness, economic and community development needs as well as assist in fair housing planning. The RHAC meetings are open to the public and will take place electronically by a webinar or onsite at the Department of Community and Economic Development, Commonwealth Keystone Building, 400 North Street, 4th Floor, Harrisburg, PA 17120-0225 on the specified dates and times.
