Stream Redesignation Evaluations; Water Quality Standards Review

Under 25 Pa. Code § 93.4b(a)(2)(ii) (relating to qualifying as High Quality or Exceptional Value Waters), the Department of Environmental Protection (Department) gives notice that it is undertaking evaluations of data submitted to the Department by the Fish and Boat Commission (Commission) pertaining to stream segments added to the Commission's Class A list. The Commission is requesting that 50 stream segments throughout this Commonwealth that meet their requirements for Class A Wild Trout Waters be redesignated as High Quality—Cold Water Fishes (HQ-CWF).

Persons who have technical data concerning the water quality, instream habitat or biological condition of these stream sections are encouraged to make it available to the Department for consideration in the assessment. These assessments may lead to recommendations to the Environmental Quality Board for redesignation.
