Stream Redesignation Evaluation; Water Quality Standards Review

Under 25 Pa. Code § 93.4d (relating to processing of petitions, evaluations and assessments to change a designated use) the Department of Environmental Protection (Department) gives notice that evaluations will be conducted on the stream sections listed as follows:

Deer Creek--Basin, from its headwaters in Shrewsbury Township and other municipalities to the Pennsylvania/Maryland state line. York Susquehanna River Little Falls--Basin, from its headwaters in Shrewsbury Township and New
Freedom Borough to the Pennsylvania/Maryland state line.
York Gunpowder Falls
Persons who have technical data concerning the water quality, instream habitat or biological condition of either of these stream sections are encouraged to make it available to the Department for consideration in the assessments. These assessments may lead to recommendations to the Environmental Quality Board (Board) for redesignation.
Data should be submitted to Bob Frey, Division of Water Quality Assessment and Standards, Bureau of Water Supply and Wastewater Management, P. O. Box 8467, Harrisburg, PA 17105-8467, e-mail email@example.com. Data should be submitted no later than December 27, 2004. This assessment is being conducted in response to two rulemaking petitions submitted to the Board by the Shrewsbury Township Supervisors. The portion of the Deer Creek basin to be evaluated is currently designated Cold Water Fishes (CWF). The portion of Little Falls basin to be evaluated is currently designated Warm Water Fishes (WWF). The petitioners are requesting redesignation to High Quality-Cold Water Fishes (HQ-CWF) for both basins.
